HISTORY, THE IJSSEL RIVER, AND LOCAL BEER
Bronkhorst
Bronkhorst is located along a beautiful route about a 20-minute bike ride from our park, right on the IJssel River. It is known as the smallest town in the Netherlands: it was granted city rights in 1482, but it has always retained its cozy, village-like character. Within its historic boundaries, you’ll find no fewer than 38 national monuments. Stroll through the narrow streets past old city farms and the 14th-century chapel, and walk up to the castle hill where the mighty castle of the Lords of Bronckhorst once stood. Fancy a refreshing beer? At the Bronckhorster Brewing Company in nearby Rha, you can sample craft specialty beers. Afterward, feel free to cycle on to the Hanseatic city of Zutphen.

38 national monuments, narrow streets, and old city farms: here, you can easily take a stroll back in time.
On the site where the impressive Bronckhorst Castle once stood, a scale model shows what it looked like.
Sample delicious craft specialty beers in the tasting room or beer garden in Rha. The brewery is located 3.5 km from our park.
Take a leisurely walk up the dike along the floodplains, or take the small ferry across the river to Brummen.
